Caractacus: The Powerful Celtic King Who Defied Rome

-------

Caractacus was the son of a Celtic king, who ruled over the Catuvellauni tribe, during the time of the Roman invasion of his homeland. He is Iron Age Britain’s most celebrated resistance leader to Roman rule, who evaded capture for nine years by melting away into the Welsh mountains. Although captured and sentenced to death, his passionate speech before Emperor Claudius eventually earned him his freedom.
